Federal Sandrail began as a company with a unique vision. Originally, our main focus was to develop a possible candidate for the United States Military’s next FAV “Fast Attack Vehicle”. Once reviewing the requirements for this class of vehicle from the U.S. Department of Defense, it quickly became clear that Federal would need to produce revenue from other sources in order to fund this long-term effort.

Federal planned to do what AM General did with the HMMWV or Humvee. Produce a frame and suspension system that can withstand years of service in the U.S. Military and utilize the same vehicle base for our public models. Public models utilize the Suzuki Hayabusa or Ecotec powertrains, Military versions will receive four cylinder turbo diesel powertrains along with full armament.

For the past 3 years, Federal and our partner Sinister Sand Sports have been researching, designing, developing and bulletproofing the ultimate mid-size sand weapon, what we call the "UZI". This long, pain staking, high-budget process was necessary in order for Federal to deliver a variety of platforms that both the military and the public have been demanding for years.
